Overall, Oakland' season has been a colossal disappointment. However, the Raiders can salvage whatever is left if they somehow someway were able to pull an upset over their arch-nemesis. While the upset is unlikely, do not expect Oakland to lie down. The Black Hole will be rocking, and the Raiders will make a game of this match-up.
The present number on the board is one that is very friendly to back the underdog Cleveland in this contest. The -6 hook with Houston would create an illusion of an easy cover if the Texans were to win by a touchdown. However, it likely won’t even come down to that. Cleveland is a dangerous team that still harbors the carefree and free-wheeling mentality of their formerly disenfranchised selves combined with the best talent they have had in years. The combination of these two ingredients makes the Browns a true value play here as they can potentially orchestrate an upset outright to end Houston’s winning streak.
For a team like the Lions who allowed 10 sacks in Week 9 against the Vikings, who knows how many sacks Aaron Donald will rack up in this week’s matchup. Donald is an absolute freak, leading the league in sacks with 14.5 as an interior defensive lineman. There’s not much hope for the Lions in this matchup as we’re taking the Rams on the road this week.
The Saints started this extended run by just beating teams, including a close call against Baltimore on the road in late October. Since then, they have been running over teams with double-digit victories in their last five games. Dallas may be the best team in the watered-down NFC East, but it is just the next team in the way of New Orleans’ quest for the top seed in the NFC.
Lay the points on the road favorite with the Saints posting another double-digit win.
It is safe to say that Monday night is a must win for Tennessee to keep pace in the AFC South Division race, but it will be a tall task to get one against a red-hot Houston team playing this game on its home field. The Titans should still be able to keep this game close to make things interesting right through the fourth quarter.
While my lean in this one is with Tennessee ATS, I am betting that the total stays UNDER 41 points.
Push comes to shove in this heated division showdown in what is basically a playoff elimination game for each team. The Vikings have had the recent edge in the series, and they also have the advantage of playing Sunday night's meeting in their own backyard.
I still see Rodgers keeping Green Bay in this one all night long, so I will take the extra half point on the field goal spread in the Packers’ favor in a game they still might win SU.
This is a huge game for both teams that are battling for an NFC wildcard playoff spot. The Panthers are favored -3.5 at home this week and will try to remain undefeated at home this season. The Seahawks lead the all-time series with an 8-4 record and winners of six of their last eight matchups against the Panthers. Look for the Panthers to grab a much-needed home win over Pete Carroll and the Seahawks.
This game will be the third-straight home game for the Colts, and it's hard to imagine them having any problems against the Dolphins. While we've seen some upsets this season, we don't expect that to be the case for the Colts who are favored -10 over the Dolphins this week. Take the Colts to win this game easily on Sunday.
This game is more about how many points will New Orleans score this week given the current run this offense has been on. Atlanta would have probably been more competitive in this matchup if it would have found a way to win last week, but that crushing loss to Dallas pretty much ended any postseason plans.
My first instinct is to go with the OVER in what should be a very high scoring game, but I am going to keep riding the hottest betting team in the NFL by taking the Saints both SU and ATS.
The Chiefs and Rams are not only two of the best teams in the NFL, but they are also two of the most exciting teams to watch. There is a reason why the total line for this game resembles a matchup in college football's Mountain West.
You know that each team’s offense is going have success against the opposing team’s defense, so I am going to take the bait with a ‘best bet’ play on the OVER this Monday night.
Minnesota may be just a half-game in back of Chicago in the NFC North, but the current gap between these two teams appears to be much broader than that. The Bears have played especially well at home, and they know just how important this game is to their division title hopes.
I see the UNDER trend in this matchup holding up on Sunday night, but I am betting on Chicago to cover the three points at home.
Another argument offered by many is that the Giants have a home-field advantage. It is a bit of an ironic statement considering that Big Blue has yet to win a game in the Meadowlands, all year. This situation doesn’t seem to be ideal for them to get their first. In the late stages of the game, Tampa Bay will pull away as their skill players will begin to eat up yards from a scrimmage against a beleaguered defense. The Giants’ offense is too suspect to bank on regardless of the match-up.
Each of these teams desperately needs a win on Thursday night to keep any outside hope of a postseason berth alive. I would give the overall advantage to Seattle playing this game at home, but it could be a three-point game either way.
Given how the Seahawks were able to move the ball against the Rams along with some softer play from their defense than expected, my ‘best bet’ pick for Thursday’s matchup is the OVER on the current total line.
In a matchup between two teams that have basically forgotten how to win, it is hard to know which way to lean in this one. New York is well-rested coming off a bye, and the 49ers are playing at home coming off their best game of the year.
The Giants actually appear to be worse off given some level of team dissension over the quarterback position, while Mullins gives his team a ray of hope moving forward. Lay the three points and take San Francisco SU and ATS on Monday night.
A loss on Sunday night would pretty much have the Cowboys riding out the string. Despite the dire situation, it is going to be very hard to go on the road on a short week and get one against a well-rested Eagles’ team that may have turned the corner with its play the last time out.
I like Philadelphia's chances to get the straight up win, and the half point on the current spread is in its favor in a seven-point game. Lay the 6.5 points and take the Eagles on Sunday night ATS.
The Rams have shown signs of weakness in their last few games, and their defense got torched by the Saints in week nine. Todd Gurley and Jared Goff have been impressive on offense all season long, but LA needs more consistent play overall. The Seahawks have started to figure things out and should be competitive in this game. The Rams will win this game at home, but Seattle will keep it close.
The Redskins should rebind marvelously here against a Tampa Bay team that remains in a state of disarray. We will go ahead and trade away the points here and take the Skins on the Money Line to enhance our return. From the opening tick, the Skins will run all over the Bucs and keep their one strength (their league-leading passing attack) at bay by limiting their possessions. Washington wins this one by much more than a mere field goal.
