Let's now take a look at Group C of the upcoming World Cup, which is one of the least competitive. France are the huge favorites to top the group, while Denmark, Peru, and Australia will have to fight for the second spot.

<b>FRANCE (-350) </b>
</p>
<p>
France is not only the big favorites to top this group, but they are also one of the favorites to win the entire tournament. It is no wonder that they are among the best teams, with several of their players coming off massive seasons with their respective clubs. France has participated in this stage 15 times in the past, with the highlight of their history being the 1998 title where they destroyed Brazil by 0-3 in a very controversial competition. France has also found themselves in another final, in 2006 against Germany, where after a 1-1 draw in the regular time they eventually lost by 3-5 in the penalty shoot-out. In the previous edition of the World Cup, they were eliminated by Germany in the quarter-finals. France dominated their qualifying group for the 2018 World Cup, and are currently sitting at the 9th spot of the FIFA rankings. They have a ton of quality players in their squad, like Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid, Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint Germain) and Olivier Giroud (Chelsea) among others.

<b>PERU (+900) </b>
</p>
<p>
Peru will surely be going to fight Denmark for the 2nd spot of the Group, as Australia are not a team that can pull that kind of an upset here. Peru hasn't had much experience in this stage of the World Cup, and their best run was back in 1970 where they finished at the 7th spot. They were outstanding in the World Cup Qualifiers, where they were sitting inside the qualification spots for almost the entire thing. However, they did play a couple of bad games towards the end and nearly suffered a heart attack. They did eventually finish at the 5th spot of the CONCACAF group and played a couple of playoff matches against New Zealand (0-0 away, 0-2 home). Oddly enough, Peru is sitting in the 11th spot of the FIFA country rankings, which are really unfair and quite broken right now. They are not used to playing in Europe, nor in colder climates, so this might be quite a challenge for them. In any case, they defeated Croatia (0-2) and Iceland (1-3) in friendlies recently. They will most likely be without their best player, Guerrero, who was caught using an uncontrolled substance (some say it was spiked tea), but the whole team are fighters and will do their best.

<b>DENMARK (+450) </b>
</p>
<p>
Denmark is the big competitors for the 2nd spot of this group, and they do have the players to back that claim. They are sitting at the 12th spot of the FIFA rankings, and this will be their fifth participation in a World Cup. They will be looking to do better than their best performance over the years, the 8th spot in the 1998 edition of the World Cup in France. There is a growing notion that Denmark is ready for their comeback in the global soccer world, mostly due to the emergence of certain players. They were known for their cohesiveness as a team, but they have had quite a few players rise to stardom in recent years. They are led by Tottenham's Christian Eriksen who has been killing it in the Premier League in the past years. Moreover, forward Nicklas Bendtner has a ton of experience in his age, while Sevilla's defender and Denmark's captain Simon Kjaer will try to lock-down the defense.

<p>
<b>AUSTRALIA (+1800) </b>
</p>
<p>
Australia is the underdogs of this group more or less, but they are used to that term in each and every World Cup they have participated. This tournament will be the Aussies 5th participation in the final stage of the World Cup, while their best run has not been anything spectacular (14th spot in 1974 in Germany). They have failed to shine at this stage, and are currently sitting at the 37th spot of the FIFA rankings. As far as the qualifiers are concerned, Australia was participating in the Asian competition, where they finished at the 3rd spot and had to overcome Syria in a double playoff match. In the previous World Cup, they failed to be competitive as they dropped out at the group stage. They will have to rely on some of the most well-known Australian players, like former Red Bull Tim Cahill, Aston Villa's Mile Jedinak, and Hertha Berlin's Matthew Leckie.

2018 World Cup Group C Predictions
France is most likely going to capture this group, and the odds to do so are not worth it unless you want to place a four-digit bet. Denmark will probably lose to France but defeat Peru and Australia, so Denmark to finish with exactly 6 points is at the respectable +325. The other solid bet in this group is as follows: 1st France, 2nd Denmark, 3rd Peru and 4th Australia in this exact same order @ +175.
