Tampa Bay fell behind early and couldn’t recover in a 38-33 loss to Arizona last Sunday. Buffalo had their bye last week.

The Buccaneers lost QB Jameis Winston to a right shoulder injury last Sunday. He has a sprain in the AC joint and is questionable this week. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced him and threw for 290 yards, 3 TDs and 2 interceptions as the Cardinals were playing off to protect a big lead. The Bills pass defense has been excellent in 2017 (235 ypg, 2-8 TD/INT ratio) and Winston or Fitzpatrick will have their work cut out for them on Sunday. WR Mike Evans remains the top target but TE Cameron Brate and WRs Adam Humphries and DeSean Jackson have been productive as well. The Bucs run game has been bolstered by the return of RB Doug Martin but Buffalo is allowing only 87.6 ypg on the ground, a huge improvement over recent years.

Buffalo led the NFL in rushing the past 2 seasons but are averaging only 106.6 ypg this year. RB LeSean McCoy is averaging only 3.2 ypc as opposing defenses are stacking the line against the offense. Tampa’s run defense had been very good until they were run over for 160 yards by the Cardinals. Expect the running game to remain an integral part of the offense this week. QB Tyrod Taylor has a 6-2 TD/INT ratio but is throwing for only 165 ypg. He has been hamstrung by a lack of proven receivers as McCoy and TE Charles Clay both have twice as many receptions as any wideout. WR Jordan Matthews (check status) has battled injuries limiting what Buffalo can do in the passing game. The Bucs allow about 300 yards per game through the air so Taylor might be able to find more plays downfield this week. The o-line has given up 18 sacks but the week off has enabled some injured starters time to recuperate.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills Free Point Spread Pick
The Bills remain in the hunt for the AFC East crown thanks to their defense. They have a favorable matchup this week as Winston will be bothered by his shoulder if he plays and they have had success against Fitzpatrick from his time with the Jets. Buffalo’s offense is a work in progress but look for them to continue to grind away with their ground game. Some holes showed up for the Bucs last week and the Bills will look to exploit them. The number is only a FG and I see the Bills defense playing a big role in a win at home for Buffalo.
