New Orleans at Dallas Game Overview

The Saints have established themselves as frontrunners for this season’s NFC title with a straight-up 10-game winning streak that includes a victory against the Los Angeles Rams as the next best team in the conference. With last Thursday’s 31-17 rout of Atlanta as a 12.5-point home favorite, New Orleans has been able to cover against the spread in each of its previous nine games. The total stayed UNDER 61 points in that last win, and it has stayed UNDER in four of its last six games.

With veteran quarterback Drew Brees playing at a very high level, the Saints continue to score points at an alarming rate. Bolstered by running backs’ Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram along with wide receiver Michael Thomas as Brees’ top target in the passing game, this offense is scoring an average of 37.2 points per game. You can also credit the Saints’ defense in a few of their recent wins with a points-allowed average of 12.6 over the last three games.

Dallas has worked its way to the top of the NFC East at 6-5 (SU and ATS) with a trio of wins against Philadelphia and Atlanta on the road and Washington at home on Thanksgiving. Thursday’s 31-23 win against the 6-5 Redskins as a seven-point favorite evened the season series between the two at one game apiece. The Cowboys were able to cover in all three of those games, and the total has gone OVER in four of their last six outings. They are 3-2 ATS at home this season.

When Ezekiel Elliott has a big day running the ball, Dallas will typically post a significant number on the scoreboard. He has rushed for 394 yards on 68 carries over the last three games. Dak Prescott also benefits from a solid ground game when it comes to moving the ball down the field through the air. One of his newest targets, Amari Cooper, had 180 yards receiving with two scores in the win against Washington.

New Orleans at Dallas Prediction 11/29/2018
The Saints started this extended run by just beating teams, including a close call against Baltimore on the road in late October. Since then, they have been running over teams with double-digit victories in their last five games. Dallas may be the best team in the watered-down NFC East, but it is just the next team in the way of New Orleans’ quest for the top seed in the NFC.
Lay the points on the road favorite with the Saints posting another double-digit win.
