<p>
The betting line for this game opened with Philadelphia as a -3.5 favorite on the point spread line where it has held. The total line for tonight’s game is listed at a moderate 42 points. The Dolphins are 1-1 straight up and 1-1 against the spread in their two preseason games this season. They opened with a 23-20 home victory over the Falcons, getting the money as -1 point spread favorites. David Fales was the leading passer for the Dolphins in the game going a not so impressive 8 of 17 for 184 yards. He did however throw two touchdown passes to go with one interception.

Their second game wasn’t as successful falling 31-7 versus the Ravens as -2.5 home fav. Expected starter Jay Cutler saw his first action completing 3 of 6 for 24 yards before being pulled. He’s expected to see a lot more action tonight and that may equate to a full half. The Eagles like the Dolphins are 1-1 in their two preseason games covering the game they won. The opener wasn’t pretty losing in Green Bay to the Packers 24-9 who were without star QB Aaron Rodgers. The good news was that QB Carson Wentz went 4 for 4 for 56 yards and one TD pass.

In their first home game of the preseason they got the “W” knocking of the Bills 20-16 getting the spread cover as a -3.5 favorite. Wentz continued his solid play completing 6 of 9 pass attempts for 56 yards in the victory. QB Nick Foley didn’t see any action again, but Matt McGloin and Dane Evans threw for a combined 223 yards giving the Eagles a respectable 263 net yards in the match.

<h2>
Game Motivation<br />
</h2>
<p>
Both teams would like to come out of the preseason at worst with a 2-2 record after underperforming last season. A win tonight can guarantee that and with this being the third game I expect the starters to be in for at least a half tonight.
</p>
<h2>
Injuries Report<br />
</h2>
<p>
The Dolphins for the first time this preseason will have their projected starting five on the offensive line. The patchwork line in their previous game was one of the key factors in the decision to pull QB Jay Cutler after two series. Likewise, for the Eagles who will start their top five linemen on their depth chart. Also, RB Wendell Smallwood will see his first action and he showed some signs of his potential last season.

<h2>
Public Money Consensus<br />
</h2>
<p>
The Eagles are taking most of the public’s money with over 60% landing on that side of the line. The total that is getting all the action is the UNDER with 65% of the bettor’s playing that at the windows.

Miami Dolphins at Philadelphia Eagles Prediction
This is an easy call for me. The coaches have both gone on record saying that the offensive starters will play a half or more tonight. Each team is dealing with some defensive injuries and their lack of depth should lead to improved scoring for the backups. Note: Matt McGloin is 4th in passing yards this preseason with 336.
