Atlanta at Seattle Game Overview

Atlanta brings some solid momentum into this game coming off last Sunday’s 27-7 victory against Dallas as a three-point home favorite. Improving to 5-4 straight-up, the Falcons are still just 3-6 against the spread with last week’s cover. The total stayed UNDER 49 points in that win and it has stayed UNDER in five of their last six games. Atlanta is 1-4 ATS on the road this season.

Defense deserves most of the credit for last week’s win with Adrian Clayborn posting six of the team’s eight sacks against the Cowboys. Matt Ryan completed an efficient 22 of his 29 passing attempts for 215 yards and two touchdowns against one interception. He now has 13 touchdown throws this season along with his eight picks and four fumbles. The Falcons are 15th in the league in scoring with 21.9 points per game and they move to eighth in total yards gained.

The Seahawks kept pace with the red-hot Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West Division race with last Sunday’s 22-16 road win against Arizona in a game that ended as a PUSH. They are now 3-5-1 ATS this season with the total staying UNDER in four of their last five games. Seattle has gone 1-3 ATS at home this season and it is 2-3-1 ATS in six games closing as a favorite.

Behind an offense that 11th in the league in scoring with 23.4 PPG and second in passing, Russell Wilson has thrown for 2,543 yards and 19 touchdowns this year. He is also the team’s leading rusher with 290 yards on 51 carries with the offense ranked 22nd in the NFL in rushing yards per game (100.7). Seattle’s defense has held teams to fewer than 20 points in five of its last six games to rank seventh in average points allowed (18.3).

Atlanta at Seattle Free Game Prediction
Both teams need a win in a very crowded playoff picture in the NFC; however neither team has been able to play with any amount of consistency from one week to the next. Seattle has the edge on defense, but Atlanta still has more overall talent on the other side of the ball. As far as picking a side, I would still call this a toss-up that could be decided by three points either way. As far as my ‘best bet’ pick, I will go with the UNDER on the current 45-point total line.
