Memphis is 6-1 SU overall and at 3-1 in AAC play it holds a slight half-game lead over SMU in the West Division title race. Last Thursday night’s wild 42-38 road victory against Houston as one-point underdogs could have been the Tigers’ best effort this season after erasing a 17-point deficit in the second half to pick up the win. They are now 3-4 ATS with the total going OVER in five of their first seven games.

Riley Ferguson put the ball up 53 times against the Cougars and he completed 33 passes for 471 yards and one score. Tigers’ wide receiver Anthony Miller caught 10 passes for 178 yards, but the ground game was held to just 30 yards on 23 carries. Memphis is ranked 10th in the nation in passing with an average of 333.4 yards a game, but it falls all the way to 72nd in the country in average rushing yards (158.7).
