<strong>North Carolina vs. Virginia Tech Game Overview</strong>
</p>
<p>
The Tar Heels stumbled out of the gate this season with a 17-13 loss to South Carolina as 1.5-point road underdogs, but it has been nothing but wins ever since with a straight-up record of 9-1 heading into this game. Bettors along for the ride have done well with their 7-2 record against the spread during this nine-game winning streak. The total has gone OVER in four of their last six games.
</p>
<p>
North Carolina stayed perfect in ACC play with last Saturday's 59-21 beatdown of Miami as a 12-point favorite at home. It has now scored a total of 125 points over its last two games and on the year this offense is tied for ninth in the nation in scoring with an average of 42 points a game. When you couple that with a defense that is allowing just 18.8 points a game it is easy to see why this is one pf the top teams in the country.

<p>
It will be an end of an era when Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer steps down at the end of the season, but his team still has some work to do at 5-5 to extend his run into the college bowl season. The Hokies have won their last two games with road victories against Boston College and Georgia Tech, but they are still just 3-3 in conference play including losses to Miami on the road and Duke at home. Overall, Virginia Tech is also 5-5 ATS with the total staying UNDER in five of its last six games.
</p>
<p>
It should be an emotional scene this Saturday in Beamer's final home game at the helm, but I do not think that will be enough for the Hokies' defense against one of the top scoring teams in Division IA ball. This unit allowed 30 points in the loss to the Hurricanes and the Blue Devils ran-up 45 points in that loss at home. Virginia Tech has done a pretty good job at beating the teams it was supposed to, but it is stepping way up in class in this matchup.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Virginia Tech Hokies Point Spread Pick
I went big on North Carolina last Saturday as one of my "best bet" picks and I am riding the Tar Heels again in this matchup. They have their sights set on Clemson in that ACC title game, but they will not get caught looking past the Hokies this Saturday in Blacksburg.
