The Tigers are 3-2 on the season after beating Boston College two weeks ago, 19-13. Clemson then had last week off.

The Tigers, playing as 14-point favorites two weeks ago, struck first against the Eagles on a 59-yard scoring run from scrimmage and led 13-6 at the half. Clemson then let BC tie the game on the opening possession of the second half, kicked a couple of field goals to retake the lead, then recovered an Eagles fumble just outside its own red zone in the last half-minute to secure the victory. But the Tigers came up short against that spread. Clemson out-gained Boston College 438-357, out-rushed the Eagles 231-46, and won the turnover battle 3-0. But the Tigers never really dominated the game like those numbers might indicate.

Just prior to that, Clemson lost at North Carolina State in overtime 27-21. So going back to last season's bowl loss to Ohio State, the Tigers are 3-3 SU, 0-6 ATS over their last six games.

At 2-1 in ACC play, this season Clemson trails 4-0 Wake Forest by a game and a half in the Atlantic Division race, and with two losses, it's probably out of the running for a sixth-straight appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Syracuse Betting Preview<br />

The Orange, meanwhile, are 3-3 on the season after falling to the Demon Deacons in overtime last week 40-37. Syracuse led that game 21-10 late into the second quarter, then gave up a 24-6 Wake Forest run to fall behind by seven points. The Orange tied the game on a touchdown with 21 seconds left, kicked a field goal in the top of the OT but gave up a touchdown on Wake's second play to lose. However, most importantly, Syracuse hung on for the cover as a 5.5-point home dog.

The Orange out-gained the Demon Deacons 514-426, out-rushed Wake 354-96, and won the time of possession by a 34:26 split. But Syracuse also gave up a couple of huge pass plays defensively, failed on a 2-point conversion, and missed a key field goal in the fourth quarter that led directly to a Deacons touchdown.

Two weeks ago, the Orange lost at Florida State 33-30 on a field goal at the buzzer and covered at +5.5. And three weeks ago, they beat a good Liberty team 24-21. On the season, Syracuse has out-gained five of its six opponents and out-rushed five of six foes.

At 0-2 in ACC play, the 'Cuse is probably out of the running in the divisional race and now needs three wins over their last six games to make a bowl.
