The Tar Heels enter this game on a three-game winning streak with their most recent coming against No. 16 Florida State. They won 77-59, as Cameron Johnson led the way with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Nassir Little also tacked on 18 points, and Luke Maye dropped 15 points and 11 rebounds against the Seminoles. It was really Maye and Johnson who took over in the win against Duke once Zion Williamson exited with a knee injury. Take away the loss against Virginia and the Tar Heels have been on fire winning 10 of their last 11 games. Johnson leads the team in scoring with 16.7 points per game with Coby White second on the team averaging 15.2 points. Maye leads nearly averages a double-double with 15.1 points and a team-high 9.9 rebounds. Little has shown a lot of flashes averaging 9.7 points but only plays around 18.3 minutes per game. Head coach Roy Williams has his team playing well, as they look to close out the rest of their season before entering tournament play.

Syracuse has been dealing with a lot lately following the car accident head coach Jim Boeheim was involved in. Boeheim was involved in an accident last Wednesday night that resulted in the death of Jorge Jimenez, said the incident is "something that will be with me for the rest of my life." Boeheim was able to return to the bench against Duke in their last game that resulted in a 75-65 loss. One of the best head coaches in college basketball will try to put less attention on him and more emphasis on the play of his team as they travel to play North Carolina. Tyus Battle leads the way in scoring, putting up a team-high 17.1 points per game. Then you have the two forwards Elijah Hughes and Oshae Brissett. Hughes is averaging 13.7 points, while Brissett averages 13 points per game with a team-high 7.8 rebounds.
