The 2018/2019 NBA regular season comes to a close on Wednesday, April 10 ahead of the start of the eight opening best-of-seven matchups in the playoffs. The Milwaukee Bucks are set as the top seed in the Eastern Conference standings, and the Golden State Warriors will begin their defense of last year's NBA title as the No. 1 team in the Western Conference.

Heading into the opening round of postseason games, BetOnline sportsbook has recently updated its futures odds to win this season’s championship. The Warriors remain head and shoulders above the rest of the playoff field as clear favorites to win their fourth NBA title in the past five seasons.

<p>
Betting NBA Championship futures is still a Warriors against the field proposition. Their most recent betting odds to win it all are set at -200. Even though they have not played their best basketball since the All-Star break, they are closing on a strong note with a straight-up five-game winning streak heading into their final two regular season games.
</p>
<p>
Golden State also made a statement by beating Houston on the road 106-104 on March 13 as a four-point underdog. The Warriors knocked off Denver 116-102 on April 2 as 8.5-point home favorites to demonstrate the existing gap between themselves and another one of the top teams in the West.
</p>
<p>
With three titles in four years, Golden State has already proven that the road to an NBA title still has to go through Oracle Arena in Oakland. You still get the feeling that each of the other 15 teams in this year’s postseason is simply playing for second place.

</h2>
<p>
Houston’s futures odds to get past Golden State as well as the top team in the East to win a world title are set at +1400. Denver’s odds to win it all out of the West are even farther down the list at +2500. Both Oklahoma City and Utah are listed at +4000 betting odds to round out the top five playoff teams in the West.
</p>
<p>
If any team is going to end Golden State’s run, it would most likely be a team out of the East. LeBron James kept Cleveland at the top of the list the previous four seasons so it might be MVP favorite Giannis Antetokounmpo's turn to take his place as the front man for the Milwaukee Bucks.
</p>
<p>
As the top seed in the East, the Bucks' updated betting odds to win this year's NBA title is set at +600. Despite their relative lack of experience in the playoffs with early first-round exits the past two years, Milwaukee has been able to raise the bar this season to keep itself in the same discussion with Golden State as an elite team in the NBA.
</p>
<p>
The road to the NBA Finals will still be tough with the No. 2 Toronto Raptors (+1000) and the No. 3 Philadelphia 76ers (+1600) waiting in the wings for their shot to make a run to the championship series.
</p>
<p>
Toronto has some veteran playoff leadership in Kawhi Leonard to add some value to its odds. The Sixers might have the most talented lineup in the East, but they would still have to prove that it can win road games against the two teams ahead of them in the standings.
</p>
<p>
Rounding out the top five teams in the East would be the Boston Celtics at +1200 followed by the Indiana Pacers much farther down the list at +15000. Boston is another team that has the overall talent to make a deep run, but it has been plagued by a lack of consistency all season long.
