<h2>
Recent Form<br />
</h2>
<p>
Toronto: The Jays are on a tailspin coming into this match loser of eight of their last nine games including four straight. Scoring has been the most significant issue scoring three or fewer runs in five of the losses.
</p>
<p>
Colorado: The Rockies with last nights 13-6 shellacking of the Jays have put together a nice win streak getting the money in six straight. The win streak all at Coors has moved their home record out of the red to 16-12 on the season.
</p>
<h2>
Head to Head<br />
</h2>
<p>
These two clubs rarely play each other making the last 10 game stats basically useless in the handicap. For the record, dating back to the 2010 season the two clubs have split the games 5-5 with the home team holding a solid edge in victories 8-2. The total has gone over in six of the ten contests.
</p>
<h2>
Starting Pitching Matchup<br />
</h2>
<p>
Toronto: Marcus Stroman is just 3-6 on the campaign, but he has thrown exceptionally well at times. He has a good 58.3 quality start percentage and impressive 2.74 ERA and has given his team a great chance to win in all but two outings this season. This will be his first time facing Colorado.
</p>
<p>
Colorado: Jon Gray isn't having the best of seasons with a 4.52 earned run average, and it's not an inflated Coors Field thing. He is better at home with a 3.86 ERA. Gray has one career start against Toronto, and that came in 2016 here at Coors where he pitched seven innings allowing four earned runs on just five hits. Only Justin Smoak (0 for 1) returns from that lineup, but he does have history against Brandon Drury (.375 BA) and Freddy Galvis (.286 BA) and Randal Grichuk (.000 BA).

Jays vs. Rockies Prediction 6/1/19

Colorado exploded for 13 runs last night, but Stroman is a considerable step up from Edwin Jackson who has looked overmatched. Jon Gray pitched well enough for his team to get the victory in his last two and the Rockies have won six of his previous eight starts. That said, he has allowed five runs in three of his last six outings making him a hit or miss proposition. I think that Toronto has such a significant edge in starting pitching tonight that I'm going to go against two sharp angles and that's backing a team on a losing streak of three or more games and betting on a team whose starter in making his first start at Coors Field. Going with the value tonight.
