<p>At 77-64 overall San Diego leads Milwaukee by two games in the battle for the No. 3 spot in the NL wild-card standings.</p>
<p>Seattle, meanwhile, just took two of three games at home from Atlanta, winning a crazy rubber match Sunday 8-7. The Mariners then also had Monday off.</p>
<p>Just before that Seattle lost two of three to the White Sox but just before that it swept three games from Cleveland. Going back a bit further the Mariners are 4-1 over their last four series and 12-4 over their last 16 games.</p>
<p>At 79-61 overall Seattle is now tied with Toronto for the lead in the AL wild-card race, a half-game ahead third-place Tampa Bay and six games clear of fourth-place Baltimore.</p>
<p>This series is the second meeting between these teams this season. Back in July the Mariners swept two games from the Padres at Petco Park.</p>
