Tuesday's Starting Arms<br />

Rookie righty Quantrill, the eighth overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft, will be making his second career ML start Tuesday. Last Wednesday, in his ML debut, he held Atlanta to two runs and six hits through 5 2/3 innings, although the Padres eventually lost that game 5-1.

Earlier this Spring Quantrill went 3-1 with a 4.68 ERA at Triple-A El Paso, in the run-happy Pacific Coast League.

This will be, obviously, Quantrill's first-ever start against the Mets, which could give him an edge, at least for the first couple of times through the lineup.

Syndergaard is just 2/7 on quality starts this season and one for his last five. Last Thursday he tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout and hit a homer to account for the only run of the game in a 1-0 victory over Cincinnati. But over his previous four starts, he got touched for 18 earned runs and 32 hits through 22 innings.

On the season, thanks mainly to some good run support, New York is 4-3 with Syndergaard.
