<h2>
Brewers vs. Cardinals Set-Up<br />
</h2>
<p>
Milwaukee just dropped three of four games at home to the Dodgers over the weekend, missing out on the split by losing Sunday's series finale 6-5. Prior to that, though, the Brewers had won two series in a row, including taking two of three games from St. Louis at Miller Park last week.
</p>
<p>
The Cardinals, meanwhile, just took two of three games at home from the Mets over the weekend, winning Sunday's series rubber match 6-4. So St. Louis is 2-1-1 over its last four series.
</p>
<p>
At 12-9 overall St. Louis is tied with 13-10 Milwaukee for second place in the NL Central, one game behind first-place Pittsburgh.
</p>
<p>
The Brewers lead the season series with the Cardinals five games to two.
</p>
<h2>
Monday's Starting Arms<br />
</h2>
<p>
Flaherty is 1/4 on quality starts this season. Last Tuesday against this Milwaukee outfit Flaherty got knocked around for five runs and nine hits, including a couple of dingers, through just 2 2/3 innings of an 8-4 St. Louis loss. But in his two starts previous to that he held the Padres and Dodgers to one run and nine hits through 11 innings, with 14 strikeouts.
</p>
<p>
The Cardinals are 2-2 with Flaherty this season.
</p>
<p>
Over his last six starts against the Brewers, two this year and four last year, Flaherty has allowed 14 runs and 30 hits through 30 1/3 innings. St. Louis went 2-4 in those games.
</p>
<p>
Fellow righty Houser will be making his first ML appearance of this season Monday night. Last year Houser posted a 3.29 ERA and a 1.46 WHIP in 13 2/3 innings with the Big Club. Then this Spring Training season he put up a 2.16 ERA through 8 1/3 innings. He later earned a promotion by going 1-0 with a 1.10 ERA in three starts, covering 16 1/3 innings, down at Triple-A San Antonio earlier this month.
</p>
<p>
In two appearances last year against St. Louis Houser threw three innings of one-hit, shutout ball.
</p>
<h2>
Monday's Batting Splits<br />
</h2>
<p>
Milwaukee is batting .249/.332/.455 against right-handed pitching this season.
</p>
<p>
St. Louis is batting .269/.343/.476 against RH pitching this season. This lineup has also scored at least six runs six of its last 10 times out.
</p>
<h2>
The Bullpens<br />
</h2>
<p>
The Milwaukee bullpen owns a 4.24 ERA this season, with a 1.24 WHIP and a 92/42 strikeouts/walks ratio.
</p>
<p>
The St. Louis bullpen owns a 3.33 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP and an 88/44 K/BB ratio.

St. Louis at Milwaukee MLB Prediction 04/22/2019

St. Louis is not as familiar with Houser as Milwaukee is with Flaherty, which could work to the Brewers' advantage. Also, the betting line, when it eventually comes out, should post the Cardinals as favorites, perhaps significantly. But Milwaukee owns the edge in the season series. Even with the youngster hitting the hill we're betting the Brewers and their bats Monday.
