Brewers vs. Giants Set-Up<br />

Milwaukee just split two games in Houston earlier this week, losing Tuesday 10-8 but winning Wednesday 6-3 in 14 innings. The Brewers then enjoyed Thursday off.

Just before that Milwaukee swept three games at home from Pittsburgh. So the Brewers are 5-1 over their last six games. At 39-29 overall Milwaukee leads the NL Central by one game over the second-place Cubs.

San Francisco, meanwhile, just swept two games at home from San Diego by scores of 6-5 and 4-2. The Giants then also had Thursday off.

Just before that San Francisco lost two of three games at home to the Dodgers. So the Giants are 3-4 over their last seven games. At 28-38 overall San Francisco trails first-place Los Angeles by 16.5 games in the NL West, and it's nine games behind the Phillies and Cubs in the battle for the second National League wild-card spot.

This series is the first meeting between these two teams this season. Last year the Brewers took the season series from the Giants six games to one.

Friday's Starting Arms<br />

Lefty Pomeranz is just 1/11 on quality starts this season and 0 for his last six. Last Friday he held the Dodgers scoreless on three hits over five frames of a 2-1 San Francisco victory.
