Hill went 3-2 with a 1.83 ERA in six starts for the Dodgers after coming to them in a trade with the Oakland A’s. He was lights out in his first three starts for the Dodgers, as they won all three games and he did not give up an earned run, but in his last three starts he gave up seven earned runs. Hill is 1-1 with a 4.34 ERA in four career appearances, including three starts, against the Nationals. He has not pitched in the playoffs since the 2007 season when he was with the Chicago Cubs.

Tanner Roark takes the hill for the Nationals and in his last outing he had a good one going five innings and only giving up one earned run in a 2-1 win over the Miami Marlins. Washington had lost his previous two starts. Roark faced the Dodgers once this season and the game was in L.A. where he went six innings giving up three earned runs in a 3-2 Nationals loss. Today will be his first career playoff start. The Nationals are 9-3 in Roark’s last 12 home starts.
