Edmonton has finally got some rest after playing on a short week where they shut out the struggling Argonauts 26-0. Calgary also had a long week after they pulled out a win last Thursday against the plummeting Redblacks 17-16.

The CFL schedulers have these two teams facing off before labour day for the first time in a long time. Calgary is 4-1 SU at home in the series and hasn't lost at McMahon Stadium to the Eskimos since 2015. There has been no shortage of points in this series with the OVER at 6-4 and both teams scoring over 40 points in their last matchup.

The defense in Calgary is still pretty good. Last year Grey Cup Champion good? No, but it can stop the run and take the ball away as well as play decent in the secondary. The offense, on the other hand, is all over the place since QB Nick Arbuckle took the reins. The whole team has looked a little sloppy this year to be truthful. It's the battle of Alberta though, and the stadium will be sold out, and both teams will be jacked up to play. Young Mr. Arbuckle will have to keep his emotions in check and his decisions sharp, if he can do that, I think he plays on the team with the better defense that will win the game for him.

The weather should be good for football on Saturday evening as the forecast calls for sunny and calm. Calgary and Edmonton both have some injuries to some starting receivers and backs, but the replacements are all quality players, I don’t see those injuries having an impact on either teams game-plan.
