In Week 6 of the CFL football season we have West Division foes the BC Lions and the Calgary Stampeders kicking off on Friday night at McMahon Stadium. This game opened on the board with the Stamps a -5.5 spread favorite, but the line has fallen at most betting shops to -4. The total opened at 49 and has held that number on most betting boards.

This will be a rematch of BC’s 20-18 opening day upset over the Stampeders on June 25 as a 2.5-point underdog at home. The Lions have gone just 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against their bitter division rivals, but one thing in their favor for this matchup is the league’s top defense this season in average points allowed (18.3). They have also done a pretty good job on the other side of the ball with an offense that is averaging 25.5 points a game.

The Stampeders’ got another big effort from quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell in last week’s win against Winnipeg. He ended the game with 310 passing yards and three touchdown throws while completing 70.7 percent of his 41 attempts. Both Anthony Parker and Marquay McDaniel also came up big with a combined 14 receptions for 161 yards and two scores. I like Calgary’s chances to avenge that earlier loss on Friday night while covering the five points as a favorite at home.
