Raiders vs. Buccaneers: Week 14 Betting Picks & Predictions
Betting Odds
Tampa Bay continues pursuit of what would be a fourth straight NFC South title when it hosts Las Vegas Sunday afternoon.
The Buccaneers are only 6-6 on the season, but at the moment, that’s good for a tie atop their division.
The Raiders, on the other hand, with just two wins on the season, are once again playing out the string.
NFL Betting Odds
This week’s NFL betting market opened Tampa Bay at -7 for Sunday, with an O/U of right around 45. Early betting action dipped that spread to -6.5 and bumped that total to 46.
Raiders-Buccaneers Betting Preview
Las Vegas lugs an eight-game losing skid into Sunday after falling in heart-breaking fashion at Kansas City last Friday 19-17. The Raiders, as the biggest underdog in the League so far this season at +13.5, fell down 16-3, then scored twice in three minutes to lead 17-16. Vegas fell down again with 10 minutes left, drove late into Chiefs territory but pissed away a chance at a game-winning field goal on a botched snap.
The Raiders out-gained Kansas City 434-329, as QB O’Connell, back in as the starter with Minshew sidelined, threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns without a pick.
Las Vegas is now 0-3 SU but 2-1 ATS with O’Connell this season, averaging 15 PPG.
Two weeks ago, the Raiders led Denver 13-9 at the half but lost 29-19. Three weeks ago, Vegas only trailed Miami by five in the fourth quarter but lost 34-19.
So at 2-10 overall, the Raiders are relegated to playing spoilers for the rest of this season.
Buccaneers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, Tampa Bay comes in off back-to-back victories after winning at Carolina in overtime last Sunday 23-20. The Bucs, favored at -6.5, led 7-0 early, then fell down 23-20 late. But Tampa then drove 36 yards to a game-tying field goal at the buzzer, then won it in OT with a fumble recovery and another FG.
But the Bucs couldn’t cover that spread.
Tampa racked up 445 yards on offense, ran the ball for 236 yards and won time of possession by a 40:28 split.
Two weeks ago, the Buccaneers ran for 157 yards and beat the Giants 30-7.
Tampa Bay started 4-2 this season, then lost four straight. But one of those losses came in overtime at Kansas City, another at the buzzer against San Francisco.
At 6-6 overall, the Bucs are tied with Atlanta for first place in the NFC South. However, Tampa already lost the head-to-head tie-breaker to the Falcons, so they’ll have to beat Atlanta in the standings outright to win the division.
The Bucs also trail 8-5 Washington by a game and a half for that No. 7 spot in the NFC playoff standings. But they own the head-to-head tie-breaker on the Commanders.
These teams last met four seasons ago, a 45-20 Tampa win in Las Vegas. Tom Brady quarterbacked the Bucs that day against Derek Carr for the Raiders.
On the injury front, Tampa Bay lists RB Irving, WR Evans, and three defensive starters as questionable for Sunday.
Common Opponents
These teams have played four common opponents this season: the Chiefs, Broncos, Ravens, and Panthers. Las Vegas played those foes to 1-5 SU, 3-3 ATS, and -25 YPG, Tampa to 1-3 both SU and ATS and -45 YPG.
