The Pittsburgh Penguins are just one win away from their second-straight Stanley Cup title heading into Sunday’s Game 6 of the NHL Finals against the Nashville Predators. All the action from Bridgestone Arena is slated to get underway at 8 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

Pittsburgh at Nashville Game Overview<br />

Pittsburgh left no doubt in anyone’s mind that it is dialed in when it comes to winning a second-straight Stanley Cup title in as many years with Thursday’s 6-0 romp over Nashville as a -164 home favorite. The Penguins took the total OVER the 5.5-goal closing line on their own and it has now gone OVER in three of the first five games in this series. They will now have to find a way to win on the road after losing five of their last seven road games.

A three-goal barrage in the opening period of Game 6 put things away for good and by the time the third period got underway Pittsburgh had already doubled that lead to six. While the Penguins have outscored the Predators 15-4 in three games at home in this series, they lost the two road games in Nashville by a combined score of 9-2. The key to wrapping things up on Sunday night will be a fast start on the scoreboard by their top sharpshooters Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel and one more stellar effort by Matt Murray in goal after turning away all of the 24 shots he faced on Thursday night.

The pressure has really been dialed up on Nashville heading into Sunday nights must win; facing elimination for the first time this postseason. The good news for Predators’ fans has been their team’s almost perfect run through the playoffs on its home ice. The only setback in the last 10 games they have played at Bridgestone Arena was a Game 4 loss to Anaheim. Nashville outscored its opponents by a total of 20 goals in those other nine victories.

The Predators will need a big effort from center Filip Forsberg as the team’s leading goal scorer (10) in the postseason as well as on defense by players such as Ryan Ellis and PK Subban, but their chances of extending this series to a winner-take-all battle back in Pittsburgh could rest on the play of goalie Pekka Rinne. He was benched in Game 5 after giving up those first three goals, but his replacement Juuse Saros did not do all that much better against Pittsburgh’s relentless offensive attack.
