Niners vs. Saints Set-Up<br />
</h2>
<p>
San Francisco is shooting to bounce back this week from a tough 20-17 loss at a hot Baltimore last week. The Niners drew first blood with an early touchdown and played the now 10-2 Ravens to a 17-17 tie until falling on a Baltimore field goal at the buzzer.
</p>
<p>
San Francisco had a chance to take the lead late in that game but failed on a 4th-and-1 inside Baltimore territory. The Niners then allowed the Ravens to eat the last six minutes off the clock before kicking that final field goal.
</p>
<p>
On the day, San Francisco out-gained the Ravens 331-283 and covered the spread as a six-point dog. They just came up a couple plays short of actual victory.
</p>
<p>
Two weeks ago, the 49ers pounded Green Bay 37-8, and in the previous game, they came from behind to beat Arizona 36-26.
</p>
<p>
At 10-2 overall, San Francisco is now tied with Seattle for the lead in the NFC West, but the Seahawks own the head-to-head tiebreaker. If the playoffs started today, the Niners would be the No. 5 seed in the NFC, playing at Dallas in a wild-card game. And nobody wants that.

<p>
New Orleans, meanwhile, owns a three-game winning streak, after holding off Atlanta Thanksgiving night 26-18. The Saints used a partially blocked punt to score the first seven points of the game, built a 26-9 lead and hung on from there for the victory and the money as seven-point favorites.
</p>
<p>
On the night New Orleans actually got out-gained by the Falcons 348-279, made only 14 first downs to 27 for Atlanta and lost time of possession by a 36:24 split. But the Saints won the turnover battle 3-0.
</p>
<p>
Two weeks ago, New Orleans outlasted Carolina 34-31, and three weeks ago, they beat Tampa Bay 34-17.
</p>
<p>
At 10-2 overall, the Saints have already clinched the NFC South and lead Seattle by the tiebreaker for the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
</p>
<p>
These former division rivals last met back in 2016, a 41-23 New Orleans victory out in Santa Clara. But that was a coach and four quarterbacks ago for San Francisco.

49ers at Saints Prediction 12/8/19
San Francisco owns the better running game and the better overall defense, but New Orleans holds the edge in the quarterback comparison and the better run defense. Plus, the Niners are playing on the road at a tough venue for the second straight week while the Saints are working on a few extra days off. We like New Orleans here giving the points.
