Minnesota at Chicago Game Overview

The Vikings went into last week's bye with four straight-up wins in their previous five games after beating Detroit 24-9 as five-point home favorites. They moved to 5-3-1 SU overall with a 4-3-2 record against the spread. The total stayed UNDER 47 points in that Week 9 win against the Lions, and it has stayed UNDER in three of Minnesota's last five games.

Kirk Cousins ranks high on the list in passing yards this season with 2,685, and he has thrown 17 touchdowns in his first nine games. The issue with the Vikings' offense has been its inability to run the ball. Injuries have kept Dalvin Cook out of the lineup for most of the season with Latavius Murray filling the void. The big story on this side of the ball has been wide receiver Adam Thielen with 947 yards and seven touchdowns catching the ball.

Chicago has convincingly won its last three games to move to 6-3 both SU and ATS. Sunday's 34-22 victory at home against Detroit as seven-point favorites easily went OVER the closing 44.5-point line and it has gone OVER in five of the Bears' last six games. They are 4-1 (SU and ATS) at home this season, and the total has gone OVER in three of the five games. Chicago is 5-2 ATS when closing as a favorite.

Second-year quarterback Mitch Trubisky is starting to look very comfortable running Chicago’s offense. He has thrown for 2,304 yards with 19 touchdown passes. The Bears have also done a good job moving the ball downfield on the ground with an average of 120.1 rushing yards per game. Last Sunday against the Lions, Trubisky threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns with six completions to Allen Robinson for 133 yards and two of those scores.

Minnesota at Chicago Prediction 11/18/2018
Minnesota may be just a half-game in back of Chicago in the NFC North, but the current gap between these two teams appears to be much broader than that. The Bears have played especially well at home, and they know just how important this game is to their division title hopes.
I see the UNDER trend in this matchup holding up on Sunday night, but I am betting on Chicago to cover the three points at home.
