Dallas at Los Angeles Game Overview

The Cowboys won the NFC East this season at 10-6 straight-up with a 9-6-1 record against the spread. With the exception of a late-season meltdown against Indianapolis, they won seven of their last eight games SU while going 6-1-1 ATS. Dallas failed to cover against Seattle as a 2.5-point home favorite in Saturday night’s 24-22 victory in the Wild Card Round. The total went OVER 43.5 points in that game, and it has gone OVER in three of its last five contests.

The defense was the team's strong suit against the Seahawks, holding Seattle to 226 yards through the air and, more importantly, just 73 yards running the ball. Cowboys' running back Ezekiel Elliott picked up where he left off after leading the NFL in total rushing yards (1,434) by gaining 137 yards with one score on 26 carries in Saturday’s win. Dak Prescott completed 22 of his 33 passing attempts for 226 yards and one touchdown throw. His lone rushing touchdown put Dallas up for good late in the fourth quarter.

Los Angeles tied New Orleans for the best SU record in the NFC at 13-3 to win the NFC West title for the second season in a row. It was an even 7-7-2 ATS after failing to cover in six of its final nine games. The Rams 3-3-2 ATS at home this season and the total went OVER or ended as a PUSH in their last four games played at home. The total has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in four of their last five games overall.

Todd Gurley missed the final two games of the regular season as the Rams’ leading rusher this season, but he is considered probable for Saturday night. Complementing Jared Goff and a passing game that was fifth in the NFL in yards per game (281.7), Gurley helped this unit average another 139.4 yards a game on the ground. This added up to a 32.9-point scoring average that was second-highest in the league.

Cowboys at Rams Prediction 01/12/2019
I went with Seattle last week in a game between two evenly matched teams. Give credit to the Cowboys for winning that game, but they do not have the firepower on offense to hang with the Rams on the scoreboard in this week’s matchup.
