The Bengals will be looking for their first win against their third NFC East opponent this season after losing to Dallas 28-14 as 2.5-point road favorites and settling for a rare 27-27 tie against Washington as three-point favorites at home. They are 3-4-1 straight-up through the first half of their schedule with a 2-5-1 record against the spread. The total has gone OVER in four of their last six games. Cincinnati is 0-3-1 ATS on the road this season and it has failed to cover in two games closing as an underdog.

It is hard to pinpoint exactly what is wrong with a Bengals’ offense that loaded with star power. It is ranked seventh in the NFL in rushing behind Jeremy Hill and Giovani Bernard and veteran quarterback Andy Dalton throwing the ball to AJ Green has this unit ranked fourth in passing yards. This production has not always led to points on the board with a scoring average (20.9 points) that is ranked 21st in the league. Cincinnati’s defense has been an issue with a yards-allowed average of 378.5 that is ranked 25th in the NFL.

The Giants have strung together three victories in a row both SU and ATS following last week’s important 28-23 victory over division rival Philadelphia as three-point home favorites. The total in that game went OVER the closing 42.5-point line after staying UNDER in five of their first seven games. New York is now 5-3 SU with a 3-3-2 record ATS. It has gone 3-2-1 this season ATS when closing as a favorite.

Early turnovers help spot New York a 14-0 lead in last week’s game and it hung on to secure a win. Eli Manning had a productive day with 257 yards passing and four touchdown throws, but he was also picked off twice. This leaves his touchdown to interception ratio at 12 to 8 on the year. The Giants are still having some major issues running the ball with a league-low 68.2 yards a game. Their defense is ranked 23rd in the league in yards allowed (371.2), but it improves to 10th in points allowed (20.5).

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants Prediction
The Bengals have not played up to expectations this season, but they still have the ability to score points behind a very balanced offense. The Giants have played much more consistent the past three weeks, but this remains a team that can quickly go off the rails at a moment’s notice.
I think a well-rested Cincinnati team is actually in perfect position to take advantage of a New York team that could be poised for a letdown after almost blowing last week’s lead. Take the points and take the Bengals on the road in a game I have them winning SU. Note: The line has since moved to Bengals -1, but David still thinks that their is value in backing Cincinnati.
