Syracuse at Wake Forest Game Overview<br />

Syracuse will be going for the state sweep this Saturday after beating North Carolina and North Carolina State at home in its last two games. The Orange upset NC State 51-41 in a wild one recent Saturday as slight two-point underdogs to move to 6-2 straight-up with a 5-3 record against the spread. The total went OVER 65 points in that game, and it has gone OVER in their last three contest. Syracuse is 1-2 SU on the road this season with a 2-1 record ATS.

Going back over Syracuse's first six SU victories this season, it has scored at least 40 points in five of those games. The only time this offense failed to score at least 30 points was in a tight 27-23 road loss to No. 2 Clemson. Eric Dungey has thrown for 1,844 yards and 13 touchdowns to lead the passing game, and he is also the team's leading rusher with 509 yards and another nine scores running the ball. While the Orange are ranked No. 7 in the nation in scoring with an average of 43.6 points per game, they fall to 77th in points allowed (28.6).

Wake Forest has battled its way to a straight up 4-4 record in its first eight games, but it covered ATS for just the second time this season in last Saturday's 56-35 shootout against Louisville as a three-point road underdog. The total went well OVER the closing 68-point line in that game, and it has gone OVER in six of the Demon Deacons' last seven contests. They return home after a two-game stint on the road at 2-3 SU and 1-4 ATS in five previous home games this year.

Sam Hartman threw for 223 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s win, but the highlight of that offensive explosion was Matt Colburn’s 243 yards rushing on 20 carries. He made his way into the end zone three times in that game. Despite the 19-point margin of victory, Wake Forest’s defense gave up a total of 532 yards in that game. The Deacons are averaging 33.4 PPG, but this has not been able to keep pace with the 36.8 points a game they are giving up on the other side of the ball.
