The Crimson Tide have already clinched the SEC West division and will play Georgia in the SEC Championship game. Speaking of good defense, Mississippi State has allowed just 12.3 points per game this season, which is tied for the second-best average in the country. Mississippi State has held five of their first nine opponents to ten points or less so far this season. The Bulldogs will face their toughest test of the season by far in this game and will try to be the first team to figure out a way to stop Tagovailoa and the Bama passing attack.

The Bulldogs are still looking for more consistency on offense, but quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is starting to show signs of improvement. Mississippi State is averaging just 29.1 points per game this season, which is the reason for their poor conference record. Fitzgerald has completed only 50 percent of his passes this season and has thrown 7 interceptions. The senior quarterback will need to make better decisions in this game against Alabama.
