Louisville’s current five-game straight-up winning streak combined with Clemson’s stunning loss last week to Pittsburgh has opened the door to a possible run all the way to a spot in this season’s College Football Playoff as long as the Cardinals can win out from here. They have not been one of the best betting teams during this current run at 2-3 against the spread and the total has stayed UNDER in three of the five games.

At one time this season Houston appeared to be a legitimate contender to make it into the College Football Playoff from a Mid-Major conference, but a fast 5-0 SU (4-1 ATS) start was erased by costly losses to Navy and SMU as a heavy road favorite. The Cougars are 8-2 SU on the year, but after failing to cover in their last five games, they fall to 4-6 ATS. The total has stayed UNDER in their last three games.

Houston still has one of the more potent passing attacks in the country with an average of 283.8 yards per game. Greg Ward Jr. has proven to be a duel threat as well at quarterback with 2,608 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air and another 429 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground. The Cougars are averaging 37 points a game on offense and defensively they are holding opponents to 21.3 points a game.
