South Carolina, meanwhile, just picked up its biggest victory in several seasons, a 20-17 overtime upset of previously undefeated Georgia in Athens last week. The Gamecocks, as 24-point underdogs, spotted the Bulldogs an early field goal, led 17-10 late into the fourth quarter, then let Georgia tie the score with just under two minutes to go. South Carolina eventually won it with a field goal in the second OT, and a subsequent Bulldogs miss.

On the afternoon, the 'Cocks got out-gained by Georgia 468-297, made only 16 first downs to 30 for the Bulldogs and lost time of possession by a 36-24 split. But South Carolina won the turnover battle 4-0, creating about a plus-13 points differential.
