Edwards Stadium in Huntington, West Virginia on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at 2:30 PM ET. The game will be shown on ESPN+ streaming. Marshall and FAU have met on five occasions dating back to 2013. The Herd had won the first four meetings until the Owls broke through last year in Boca Raton with a 30-25 win. Marshall owns wins over FCS Eastern Kentucky, Miami Ohio, Old Dominion, and Western Kentucky with an additional loss against presently undefeated NC State.

The Owls have yet to earn a statement win this season to back up a lot of the hype and pre-season revelry. This stage serves to be an ideal venue for FAU to achieve such a feat. This team has already tussled with some big names and their Coach Lane Kiffin knows how to get this outfit to play above its level. After all, Florida Atlantic was just 1-3 at one point in 2018 before it took the mid-majors by storm. This contest can be a great point of ignition as all the lights are off of them.

An attractive proposition is that Marshall can win this game here because they are at home where they have been known for a distinct advantage. However, such advisories went out the window when MTSU came to town. Marshall is up against perhaps the most dangerous offensive weapon they have faced year-to-date in Owls running back Devin Singletary. Last year, Singletary accumulated over 270 yards from scrimmage against this Herd defense and found the end zone twice. Laying lumber here with this match-up alone is a risky play.
