Butler was at home in their season opener where they beat Kennesaw State 82-64 in a game that did not have a line or total. Martin was the high scorer for Butler with 20 points on 6/15 shooting and he also had nine rebounds. James Scott was the high scorer for Kennesaw State going for 26 points on 10/19 shooting and he was the only starter that went for double figures. In the game The Bulldogs shot 50% from the floor and they held Kennesaw State to 40.7% shooting. Butler was ahead 48-24 at the half and they forced 17 turnovers, but they allowed Kennesaw State to shoot 50% from beyond the 3-pt arc.
