<p>The Panthers are only 2-2 SU, 1-3 ATS over their last four games after falling at Notre Dame Wednesday night 88-81. Pittsburgh, favored by three points, led 16-15 early but gave up a 27-12 Irish run to trail 42-28 at the half. The Panthers then fell down by 20 midway through the second half, rallied to within five in the last minute but could not complete the comeback.</p>
<p>Pitt allowed Notre Dame to shoot 49 percent from the floor Wednesday, shot just 44 percent itself and uncharacteristically made only 20/36 from the free-throw line.</p>
<p>Two games ago the Panthers beat Syracuse 99-82 and covered at -5. Three games ago they beat Georgia Tech 76-68 but came up short ATS at -11. And four games ago Pittsburgh lost at Virginia Tech 79-72. But just prior to that the Panthers won six in a row, including victories over Wake Forest, this Miami team and North Carolina.</p>
<p>The Hurricanes, meanwhile, just had a seven-game winning streak snapped by a crazy 85-84 upset loss to Florida State last Saturday. Miami, favored by 13, jumped out to a 14-2 lead and led 54-31 at the half. The ‘Canes then scored the first bucket of the second half to go up by 25 but took their foot off the gas and allowed a 40-14 Seminoles run to fall down by a point with six minutes left. Miami later regained the lead with five seconds remaining but lost on a 25-foot FSU 3-pointer at the buzzer.</p>
<p>The Hurricanes shot 53 percent from the floor Saturday but allowed the Seminoles to shoot 52 percent.</p>
<p>Two games ago Miami won at Virginia Tech 76-70. Three games ago the ‘Canes beat Wake 96-87. Other wins during their streak came against North Carolina, Duke and Clemson.</p>
<p>At 14-5 in conference play these two teams are tied with Virginia for first place in the ACC. Considering the Cavaliers finish their season against Louisville Saturday it appears the winner of this game with share the ACC regular-season title with UVA.</p>
<p>And both these teams are shoo-ins to make the upcoming NCAA tournament.</p>
<p>On the injury front Miami G Nigel Pack, who recently scored 20-plus points three games in a row, missed last Saturday’s game (“lower extremity”) and is listed as questionable for Saturday.</p>
