The Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics return to action this Wednesday night at TD Garden in what has become a best-of-three affair in the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the series tied at two games apiece. Tip-off for Game 5 set for 8 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on TNT.

Washington started this best-of-seven series with two road losses by a combined 22 points before roaring back with a pair of impressive double-digit blowouts at home to even things up at two games apiece. The total went OVER the closing 214.5-point line in Sunday’s 121-102 victory in Game 4 as a five-point favorite and it has gone OVER in three of the first four games in this series with the winning team eclipsing the 115-point mark each time. The Wizards go back to Boston with a 1-4 record both straight-up and against the spread in five previous road playoff games this year.

To try and break this string of poor play on the road, Washington will turn to top two scorers; John Wall and Bradley Beal. Each player averaged 23.1 points per game in the regular season as a big part of the Wizards’ team scoring average of 109.2 points that was ranked fifth in the NBA. Through 10 postseason outings, Wall is putting up a team-high 28.8 points and Beal has basically matched his season total with 23.6 PPG. With Game 4 tied 48-48 at the half, the Wizards pulled away for good by outscoring the Celtics 42-20 in the third quarter aided by a 26-0 run.

Boston has also been a tale of two teams throughout the playoffs. It lost the first two games at home SU and ATS in an opening round matchup against Chicago before reeling off six wins in a row both SU and ATS including those two blowout victories at home in the first two games of this series. The total stayed UNDER in the final four games against the Bulls with a scoring average of 105.3 PPG, but the Celtics exploded for 123 points in Game 1 and 129 points in Game 2 against the Wizards to help take both games OVER the closing line.

Isaiah Thomas has been able to overcome a personal family tragedy to position his team just two wins away from a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. He was held to 19 points in Sunday’s loss but still led the team in scoring. Through Boston’s first 10 postseason contests, he has averaged 25.6 PPG fueled by a 53-point effort at home in Game 2. The Celtics are averaging 106.3 PPG in the playoffs.
