NBA Betting Preview

Philadelphia grabbed the opener of this series Saturday, 131-111. The 76ers took the lead for good at 7-5, went up by 24 early in the third quarter, allowed Toronto to get within 11 points later in the third but pulled away for the easy win and cover as 4.5-point favorites. Philly shot 51 percent from the field Saturday, hit 16/32 from 3-point land and 29/34 from the free-throw line, and committed just four turnovers. Also, Game 1 played over a total of 215.5 with plenty of time to spare. Going back a couple of weeks, the 76ers are 6-1 SU, although only 3-4 ATS over their last seven games, favored by a bit too much a bit too often. But not Saturday. The Raptors, meanwhile, lost their meaningless regular-season finale to the Knicks, but before that, they played 8-1 SU and 6-3 ATS over their previous nine games. The Sixers finished three games ahead of Toronto in the regular-season standings, but the Raptors took the season series from Philly three games to one. So on the season, Toronto is now 3-2 SU, 4-1 ATS vs. the 76ers. On the injury front, Raptors F Scottie Barnes (15 ppg, 7.5 RPG) left Saturday’s game in the fourth quarter after getting his ankle stepped on, did not return, and is listed as questionable for Monday night. Also, G Gary Trent (18 ppg) is doubtful on the virus list.

Raptors at 76ers Prediction ATS 4/18/22
Philadelphia won Game 1 of this series by 20 points with limited contributions from Embiid and Harden. Tyrese Mackey probably won’t throw in 38 Monday night like he did Saturday, but Embiid and Harden should shoot better than 11/32. Meanwhile, Toronto is really short-handed, with Trent and Barnes probably both out. We’re giving the points here with the 76ers.
