Cleveland Cavaliers at Denver Nuggets NBA ATS Pick - Game Analysis and Odds

Cleveland was mired in a lingering slump for much of January. It decided to blow up its roster right before February's trade deadline, and so far in March, it is 1-2 both straight-up and against the spread. The Cavaliers did manage to get past Detroit at home on Monday with a 112-90 victory that covered the closing six-point spread. They now head on the road for the first of six games at 15-15 SU with a 13-17 road record ATS.

The one constant with this team is the elevated play of LeBron James as the leader in points (26.8) and assists (9.0). With Kevin Love out of the lineup, he has also assumed the role as the top rebounder with 7.2 a game. In Monday’s win against Detroit, James led the way with a game-high 31 points while going 11-for-17 from the field. Larry Nance Jr. scored a career-high 22 points with 15 rebounds in his first start for Cleveland after playing off the bench since coming to the team in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Denver wrapped up its quick three-game road trip on Tuesday night with a 118-107 loss to Dallas as a 6.5-point favorite after beating Cleveland 126-117 on Saturday as a 4.5-point underdog in the first game of this home-and-home series. Going back to the beginning of February, the Nuggets are 9-4 SU in their last 13 games with a 7-6 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in 10 of those 13 games. Returning home, they are 24-9 SU with a 17-15-1 record ATS.

With four different non-starters in double figures, Denver got a significant effort from its bench on Tuesday night, but it still could not close the gap with Dallas after getting outscored by 15 points in the third quarter. In the first win against Cleveland, Gary Harris scored 32 points, and Will Barton added 23 more points off the bench. The Nuggets shot 54.3 percent from three-point range to help put the game away. Denver is ranked eighth in the NBA in scoring with an average of 108.6 points per game, but it falls to 21st in points allowed (107.7).

Cleveland at Denver Free Game Prediction 03/07/2018
Cleveland is coming off a win and a day off, but this remains one of the most terrible teams to figure out no matter which players are on the court. The Cavaliers just lost to Denver at home as part of this two-game series as favorites. With Denver playing back-to-back nights and coming off a bad loss, I am going to tempt fate by going with Cleveland both SU and ATS on the road this time around.
