<p>
Pittsburgh: Gerrit Cole (11-9, 3.93 ERA) Milwaukee: Brent Suter (2-2, 3.55 ERA)
</p>
<p>
Gerrit Cole goes for the Pirates tonight and he is coming off a great last outing where he did not give up any runs and only allowed two hits, but got no help from the lineup in a 1-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs. He was not sharp in his previous outing giving up five earned runs in a Pittsburgh loss, but in two of his last three starts he has not given up any earned runs. The Pirates won Cole’s first three starts against the Brewers, but in his last one on August 16th he gave up four earned runs in six innings in a 7-6 Pittsburgh loss. While the Pirates have lost four of Cole’s last five starts they have won eight of his last nine road starts.
</p>
<p>
Brent Suter gets the nod for the Brewers in this division match up and his last appearance came out of the bullpen where he did not give up any runs and gave up two hits in one inning in a 7-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. In his only start of the season against the Pirates he went four innings and gave up two earned runs in a 4-2 Milwaukee loss. The Brewers have won four of Suter’s last five home starts and he has been used as a starter and reliever this season with his last two appearances coming out of the bullpen.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
The Pirates snapped their five-game losing streak with their win over the Brewers in Game 1 of this series. In losing five in a row they only totaled six runs before scoring seven in yesterday’s win. Pittsburgh is 10 games out of first place in the NL Central and 11.5 games out of the 2nd NL Wild Card. The Brewers had won three in a row where they only gave up three runs before losing the Pirates in the series opener. They are 2.5 games back of the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central and four games back of the Colorado Rockies in the Wild Card. Cole has really been up and down as of late, as in his last four starts he has not given up any runs in two of them and in the other two he gave up five earned runs in each. I think he will have a solid outing tonight after his great last one and unlike his last one he will get some run support. Suter will be decent, but the Pirates will get to him for a few runs and Pittsburgh will take this game and go for the series sweep tomorrow.
