Pitching Match Up

Oakland: Kendall Graveman (4-4, 4.24 ERA)
Los Angeles: Parker Bridwell (7-2, 2.89 ERA)

Kendall Graveman goes for the A's tonight and in his last outing he was solid only giving up one earned run in seven innings in a 3-1 win over the Texas Rangers. The A's have won two of his last three starts and in that span he has given up five earned runs in 20 innings. Graveman has faced the Angels three times this season where Oakland has gone 2-1 and he gave up two earned runs in each of the three outings. In nine career starts against the Angels he is 2-2 with an ERA of 3.19. Oakland has lost Graveman’s last five road starts and they have lost five of his last six starts after a Quality Start in his previous outing.

Parker Bidwell gets the starting nod for the Angels and in his last outing he gave up two earned runs in seven innings, but got little run support in a 2-1 loss to the Houston Astros. The Halos had won his previous eight starts and in his last nine starts he has given up more than two earned runs only once. This is Bidwell’s first career start against the A's and at home this season he is 3-2 with an ERA of 3.56 while on the road he is 4-0 with an ERA of only 2.00. The Angels are 4-1 in Bidwell’s last five home starts and they are also 4-1 in his last five starts against a team with a winning record.

Oakland A's vs. L.A. Angels Prediction
The A's have lost their last two games after winning three in a row and they are in the basement of the AL West and have the 3rd fewest wins in the AL. they had totaled 19 runs in winning three in a row before only scoring three runs combined in their last two losses. The Angels have won two in a row and three of their last four games and while out of the AL West race they are only one game back of the Minnesota Twins for the 2nd Wild Card. L.A. pitching has been solid on the season and they have only given up three runs in the first two games of this series. Oakland has not had much success facing the Angels in La La Land the last couple of seasons and look for that to continue. Graveman will not have a bad outing, but Bidwell will have a better one. He has had a great rookie season and would be in the Rookie of the Year race if Aaron Judge did not have the award in the bag. He will lead the Angels to a win in this game and the Halos will complete the series sweep.
