Twins vs. Brewers Set-Up<br />

Minnesota just dropped three of four games at home to rival Cleveland over the weekend, losing Sunday's series finale 7-3 in 10 innings. Just before that the Twins lost two of three to Atlanta. So Minnesota is 1-5 over its last six games.

At 71-47 overall the Twins, after leading the AL Central basically all season, now trail the first-place Indians by a half-game. But Minnesota also currently leads the AL wild-card race by two games over second-place Tampa Bay and by four games over third-place Oakland.

<p>
Milwaukee, meanwhile, just took two of three games at home from Texas over the weekend, missing the sweep by losing Sunday 1-0. Just before that the Brewers swept three games from Pittsburgh. So Milwaukee is 5-1 over its last six games.

<p>
The Brewers trail the Cubs by 2.5 games in the NL Central, and they're also a half-game back of St. Louis in the battle for the second National League wild-card spot.

<p>
This series is the second meeting between these teams this season; back in May, they split two games up in Minneapolis.

Tuesday's Starting Arms<br />
</h2>
<p>
<a href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/mlb/pitcherlog/57276&quot; title="Chase Anderson Pitching Logs">Anderson</a>, by our strict standards, is just 2/18 on quality starts this season and only one for his last 11. But those figures are adversely affected by a short leash. Nine times this season Anderson has pitched to within three outs or less of a QS only to get pulled. Last Tuesday he held the Pirates to two runs and six hits through 5 2/3 innings of a 4-3 Milwaukee victory. And over his last five starts, he's allowed just seven runs and 20 hits through 28 innings.

The Brewers are 9-9 with Anderson this season, 3-2 over his last five starts.

In his most recent start against Minnesota, in July of last season, Anderson allowed just one run and three hits over 6 1/3 innings of a 3-2 Milwaukee win.

<a href="https://www.sportsbettingstats.com/mlb/pitcherlog/40322&quot; title="Martin Perez Pitching Logs">Lefty Perez</a> is 7/20 on quality starts this year but 0 for his last four. Last Wednesday he got knocked around by the Braves for seven runs – six earned – and 11 hits, including three homers, through six innings of an 11-7 Twins loss. And over his last four starts, he's allowed 19 ER and 32 hits, including ten dingers (!), through 21 innings.

Minnesota is 11-9 with Perez this year, 2-3 over his last five starts.

This start will be Perez's first against the Brewers since 2016 when he was with Texas.

Minnesota is batting .263/.330/.489 against right-handed pitching this season. But this lineup is operating without Nelson Cruz (.294, 32 HR), who's on the DL with a bad wrist.

Milwaukee is batting .245/.317/.429 against left-handed pitching this season. This lineup has been operating without reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich for the last week, but it's hoped he'll be good to go for this game.
