The Miami Marlins continue their road trip with their second game of a four-game series in St. Louis at the New Bush Stadium. The first pitch for this Independence Day game is set to be thrown at 2:15 PM.

<p>
The linesmaker has listed the Cards as a -133 favorite over the road Marlins with the total being offered up at 9.5 runs.
</p>
<p>
The Cardinals took the opener of this series in a slug fest that saw the two teams combine for 20 runs on 28 hits in the 14-6 St. Louis win.
</p>
<p>
The loss was the fifth in six games for Miami for a reeling pitching staff that has allowed six or greater runs in four of those games. Over bettors have been profiting all season on Marlins’ games with the team registering a 44-31 mark versus the total line and have cashed in three straight.
</p>
<p>
The Cardinals have been on a roll in the last six games grabbing the cash in five of those contests. Their bats have been solid for the most part in their last ten games tallying 64 runs scoring four or more in seven of the games.
</p>
<p>
This season these two clubs have played four games and the Cards have gotten the W in all four roughing up the Marlins pitching staff for 36 runs! The total went over the closing line in all the matches this year and in fact have gone OVER in nine consecutive games in this series.

<h2>
Pitching Matchup<br />
</h2>
<p>
Jose Urena (R) W/L : 6-3 ERA: 3.42<br />
Lance Lynn (R) W/L: 6-5 ERA: 3.90
</p>
<p>
Jose Urena is a perfect 3-0 on the road this season with a very respectable WHIP of 1.06. He did get blown up in his last against the Cardinals allowing 8 runs in just 4.1 innings although that start came last season.
</p>
<p>
Lance Lynn has gone 3-2 in his home starts this season with a good ERA of 3.09 and a WHIP of 1.09. St. Louis has won all five of his career starts against Miami, but he wasn’t impressive in his lone start this season allowing four runs over four innings.

The public is following the trends and laying the money and riding St. Louis in this game with upwards of 70% on that side. The OVER surprisingly has not be overly bet with Joe Bettor landing on the OVER 56% of the time.

Miami Marlins at St. Louis Cardinals Prediction
The Cardinals starter Lance Lynn rebounded from an ugly stretch with his first quality start in seven games. That may signal a return to form for the right-hander, but my money is going to go against that happening. Lynn struggled in his last start against Miami getting the hook after four innings when he allowed four runs and was taken out of the park twice. Also, another metric to throw into the mix is his stats in days games where he holds a 2-2 record with a 5.17 ERA. Marlins starter has shone in day games with a 2-1 record and 1.99 ERA. He comes into this game sharp with four consecutive quality starts and as mentioned in the preview has yet to be tagged with a loss on the road this season. I’ll take the plus money and put it on the team with the superior starter.
