Chicago Cubs vs. L.A. Dodgers Prediction
The Cubs had their three-game win streak snapped in their last game and in those three games they totaled 14 runs before getting shut out in Game 1 of this series. Chicago is still in first place in the tight NL Central only up ½ game on the Milwaukee Brewers and one game up on the St. Louis Cardinals. The Dodgers have won two in a row and four of their last five games and in those four wins their pitching has been solid only giving up a total of seven runs. L.A. is in 3rd place in the NL West 2.5 games back of the Colorado Rockies. Lackey has enjoyed success against the Dodgers in his career, but he has not been sharp in his last two starts, especially his last one. On the other side of the coin McCarthy is coming off a great start and he stymied the Cubs earlier this season in the Windy City. Look for that to happen again, as McCarthy will have another strong outing and lead the Dodgers to a win.
