Edmonton’s quest to get back to the Grey Cup title game through the East Division as a crossover team started with a tight 24-21 road win against Hamilton this past Sunday in a game that ended as a PUSH. The total stayed well UNDER the closing 56-point line in this division semifinal matchup and it has stayed UNDER in three of the Eskimos’ last four games.

One area of concern for this Sunday’s game is the playing status of quarterback Mike Reilly. He left last week’s game with a wrist injury, but he has been upgraded to probable as of Monday afternoon. In his absence, Edmonton got a huge effort from John White on the ground with 160 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.

Ottawa won its second-straight East Division title this season, but with just two wins (both straight-up and against the spread) over its final six games, you can hardly say this team is in postseason form. The RedBlacks were 8-9-1 overall with a 7-11 record ATS. They failed to cover the spread in eight of nine home games this year and the total went OVER in four of their last five games overall.

The one thing that Ottawa was still able to do quite well was move the ball down field through the air behind both Trevor Harris and veteran quarterback Henry Burris. This offense had three different receivers with more than 1,200 yards receiving although Chris Williams was lost for the season with a knee injury.

Edmonton Eskimos at Ottawa RedBlacks Prediction
Reilly looks like he will be ready to go and that just adds another big headache to Ottawa’s plate in light of the Eskimos’ power running game. I have been betting the CFL West against the East all season long and I am not going to stop now.
