We give Houser the edge in the pitching match-up, but St. Louis owns an edge with the sticks. Then, we'll call the bullpen comparison about even. Now, Houser was great against St. Louis last year, but he was also a little lucky. The Cardinals put most balls in play, just not for hits. That kind of thing tends to even out over time. Betting baseball is often about betting the value we find on the dime lines, and we like the value with St. Louis here at the underdog price.
We give Rasmussen and the Tampa bullpen the edge in the pitching match-up here, and the Rays own an edge in the splits with the sticks. Also, after dropping a series at home to a team they
should have beat, we expect a bounce-back series from Tampa Bay this weekend. So we're betting the Rays at the underdog price Friday night.
We’re calling this pitching match-up a wash but we give San Diego the edge in the bullpen comparison. Also, Atlanta is without two key sticks from last season, including one big left-handed bat. So while we love Morton and have bet on him many times over recent seasons we’re going against him here and taking the Padres.
Ray gets a huge check-mark in the pitching match-up, large enough for us to throw out other handicapping factors. Yes, Seattle is struggling a bit to score runs, but Keuchel might be just the remedy. And the Mariners posted a pretty good record against lefties last year. We like Seattle here at the pick 'em price.
We give Cortes the edge in the pitching match-up and while Toronto might own an edge with the sticks - New York’s only scored a total of 13 runs through its first four games - we give the Yankees the edge in the bullpen comparison. So we like New York to even-up this series Tuesday night.
We gotta give Wood the edge in the pitching match-up, and we give San Francisco edges with the sticks and in the bullpen comparison. So we're playing the Giants tonight, giving the -145 on the dime line.
We're calling this pitching match-up a push while we'll give New York slight edges with the sticks and in the bullpen comparison. However, after going 2/22 with RISP through the first two games of this series, we expect a little better luck from Boston Sunday night. Also, the Red Sox won't want to get swept by their hated rivals in the first series of the season. Betting baseball often comes down to finding value on the betting lines, and we like the value here with Boston getting the underdog price.
We call the pitching match-up here close, and Los Angeles owns a slight edge with the sticks. But the Dodgers own a big edge in the bullpen comparison, and there's a good chance that's what this game will come down to - the last few innings. So not only do we like LA, we'll gamble a bit and chase the better price playing against the run line.
Atlanta gets our baseball handicapping check-marks in the pitching match-up, the splits with the sticks, and in the bullpen comparison, so our pick here is easy. But we don't like that price. So we'll gamble a little and take the home team against the run line, giving the run and a half at the better price.
We liked Houston to win this World Series from the get-go because of the advantage with the bats, and they finally woke up Sunday night. And they got Fried for six runs in Game 2. Plus, the Astros are playing at home in front of a raucous crowd, and the price isn't bad. So we're betting Houston here to push this series to a Game 7.
Houston bats are 0/10, with runners in scoring position over the last two games. We expect better Sunday night. We also expect better from Valdez. And Houston's too good to allow itself to get knocked out in five games. We're betting the Astros here, and we might even tickle that +430 to come back and win this Series.
We give Anderson a slight edge in the pitching match-up, but Houston owns the best line-up in the Majors against right-handed pitching. The Astros bullpen has also been pretty good this post-season, and Houston's getting an underdog price. So we like the Astros to take this Game 3.
Los Angeles gets our handicapping check-mark in the pitching match-up here and the sticks look about even, so LA should be favored. But not by that much. Also, the Dodgers are little banged-up, down a couple people, and going with a bullpen that just threw a complete game two days ago. Betting baseball is often about betting value and we like the value here with the home-dog Braves.
This game comes out to almost even according to our main baseball handicapping factors; the line should be about a pick ‘em, and it almost is. But Big Mo carries a lot of weight from there, and he flew home with Houston Wednesday night. Plus, we expect better from Garcia than he's shown lately, and those Astros bats are hot. We like Houston to take this Game 6 and the pen-nant.
Fried’s been very good against the Dodgers this season and we expect more of the same here. Plus, Big Mo rides with Atlanta, which means a ton to us when handicapping baseball games. Plus, the Braves are getting an attractive underdog price. We like the baseball betting value with Atlanta Thursday night.
Scherzer gets the check-mark in the pitching match-up and Los Angeles gets the check-mark in the bullpen comparison so we like the Dodgers here. Plus, of LA’s 12 wins with Scherzer 10 have come by at least two runs. And in knowing the visiting team will bat nine times we’ll chase a better price and play the Dodgers against the run line.
We're calling both this pitching match-up and the bullpen comparison washes, but we give Hou-ston a slight edge with the sticks. Also, the Astros took five of seven games from Boston during the regular season. We like Houston to take Game 1 of this ALCS at what seems like a reasonable price.
We give Webb a very slight edge in the pitching match-up a wash and San Francisco a very slight edge in the bullpen comparison, but we give Los Angeles an advantage with the sticks because it appears the Giants miss Belt more than the Dodgers miss Muncy. Ultimately, though, we've just thought Los Angeles was the better team all season and that San Francisco was playing a bit above its head, and that sooner or later, the Dodgers would pass the Giants. Well, later is here. We like LA for our free baseball pick for Thursday.
We're calling this pitching match-up a wash, and the splits with the sticks and the bullpen com-parisons are close, too. Even the injuries look like they even out. So the true line on this game should be about a pick 'em. But the Giants just seem to have a little magic in their pockets this year, and they're getting a home dog price. That's why we see some nice baseball betting value here with San Francisco.
