Despite his recent struggles, we give Montas the edge in this pitching match-up. From there, we also give New York edges with the sticks and in the bullpen comparison. So we like the Yankees here. We also like taking chances. So in, knowing the visitors will bat nine times, we'll play the Yanks against the run line at a price of -110.
Wainwright gets our handicapping check-mark in the pitching match-up, and St. Louis owns an edge with the sticks, while Atlanta owns an edge in the bullpen comparison. But the Cardinals should also have Big Mo on their side after rallying to win Saturday night, and they're just headed in a good direction as of late. So we like St. Louis here, the home team, at a very reasonable price.
Leading into Sunday's matchup between Baltimore and Houston, the Astros are the heavy favorite on the money line. Even though the Astros dropped yesterday's game to the Orioles, look for Justin Verlander to shut down the Baltimore lineup. I like the Astros to cover the Runline.
McCullers owns the edge in the pitching match-up, and Houston owns an edge with the sticks, while the bullpens, two of the best in the business this season, are pretty close. But when we tally those things up, it becomes apparent that while the Astros are rightly favored, the line on this game is way too high. Betting baseball is all about finding the value on the daily dime lines, and we like the baseball betting value here with Baltimore at that huge underdog price. So we're betting the O's Friday night.
We give Walker, perhaps refreshed after ten days off, the edge in the pitching match-up here, and while the Yankees own an edge in the bullpen comparison, the Mets own an edge with the sticks. Also, the Mets are just going better than the Yanks as of late, they own a great record against RH starters, and they're getting an underdog price. We're betting the Mets Tuesday night.
Los Angeles is surging while Milwaukee is sputtering. From there we give the Dodgers our baseball handicapping check-marks in the pitching match-up, the splits with the sticks and the bullpen comparison. So we like LA here. Also, we notice that during this 11-game winning streak with Urias 10 of those victories came by at least two runs. So we’ll give the run and a half and play the Dodgers against the run line.
We'll call this pitching match-up a wash, as are the splits with the sticks. But Baltimore owns a solid edge in the bullpen comparison. Plus, the Orioles are still right in the fight for a wild-card berth while Boston is fading. We're betting Baltimore Sunday night.
We give Javier the edge in the pitching match-up, and while Atlanta might own a short edge with the sticks, Houston might own a slight edge in the bullpen comparison. So from what we can tell, the line on this game is way too high. We like betting value on the daily baseball dime lines, and we like the value here with the Astros getting that underdog price.
We give Montas an edge in the pitching match-up, and New York owns an edge in the bullpen while Toronto gets the check-mark in the splits with the sticks. So the line on this game looks about right. But we've been waiting for the Yankees to come back to Earth, following such a super start to this season, and right now, they're having trouble scoring runs. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays are playing for their playoff lives from here on out. We like the value here, with Toronto getting the underdog price.
This pitching match-up is darn near a push because the White Sox have been hitting Valdez over recent meetings. And while Houston owns the edge in the bullpen comparison, we gotta give Chicago the edge in the splits with the sticks. So from what we can tell, the line on this game should be closer to a pick 'em'em. Also, the White Sox are hot at a good time, while the Astros are kind of treading water over the last couple of weeks. So we like the value with Chicago at the underdog price.
We call this pitching match-up a wash because both guys have been hit rather hard by these opponents recently. And while we give New York an edge with the sticks, Atlanta owns an edge in the bullpen. So from what we can see, the line on this game should be a lot closer to a pick 'em. We also like the Mets' record against RH starters and their chances of bouncing back after getting thumped last night. We're taking the underdog price with New York Tuesday night.
We give Los Angeles our handicapping check-marks in the pitching match-up, the splits with the sticks, and the bullpen comparison. Also, the Dodgers are smokin' hot while Milwaukee is struggling. So we love LA here. We also like gambling. So we're chasing the better price playing the Dodgers against the run line.
We give Wacha a slight edge in the pitching match-up because he's been so good against the Yankees recently. However, he may very well be on a short leash, coming off the IL, and would then turn the game over to the Boston bullpen, which is an iffy proposition. Meanwhile, New York owns a great bullpen while the splits with the sticks are about even. So when we add things up, we like the Yankees to take the rubber match of this series at this very reasonable price.
We give St. Louis the edge in the pitching match-up partly because Lauer is almost two runs per game worse on the road this season than he is at home. From there, the bullpens are about even, but the Cardinals own a huge advantage in the splits with the sticks. Plus, St. Louis is headed in a good direction as of late. Milwaukee, not so much. So while we don't like going along with the betting flow, we like the Cardinals for Friday night.
We give Smyly a slight edge in the pitching match-up, and Chicago owns the better bullpen. Meanwhile, neither team is scoring much as of late. From there, the Cubs are actually playing some decent ball as of late, while Cincinnati just got swept three games. And we can't get that Reds bullpen ERA out of our minds. So we're going with the Cubbies for our free baseball pick for Thursday night.
Gray owns the edge in the pitching match-up, but Los Angeles gets the check-marks in the splits with the sticks and in the bullpen comparison. So we like LA here. We also notice that each of the Dodgers' nine wins during their current streak have come by at least two runs. So we'll take a chance and play Los Angeles against the run line here at a price of +115.
Toronto gets our handicapping check-marks in the pitching match-up and in the splits with the sticks, while Baltimore owns an edge in the bullpen comparison. So we're leaning Blue Jays. Then, Toronto is 14 games over .500 against RH starters while the Orioles are three games under. Also, after dropping the opener of this series Monday night, we expect the Jays to bounce back. So while we're not big fans of the line on this game, we are betting the Blue Jays for our free baseball pick for Tuesday.
We give Gilbert a slight edge in the pitching match-up. From there, we call this bullpen comparison darn-near a push, and while New York's bats own better numbers, they're down a couple of guys. So from what we can tell, this game should be lined as a pick 'em at the least. Instead, the hotter team, or at least the team that's been playing better ball as of late, is lined as a home underdog or close to that. Betting baseball is often about betting the value we can find on those dime lines, and we like the value with the Mariners minus the tiny number.
Leading up to Sunday's National League West matchup between San Diego and Los Angeles, the Dodgers are the favorite on the moneyline. Even though LA starter Tyler Anderson is coming off a rough outing, I expect him to get back on track vs San Diego, as his WHIP is still just 1.03. Look for the Dodgers to continue their winning ways vs San Diego.
We give Montgomery the edge in the pitching match-up here because he's been better than his 3-3 record might indicate. From there, we give New York the edge in the bullpen comparison, but we can't give it the edge with the sticks because they're missing a couple of key guys. Ultimately what we like about this game is St. Louis is hot while the Yankees have hit some doldrums, and those are trends that mean a lot to us. So we're betting the Cardinals Saturday night.
