Chalk Wire - Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica will take their battle for top spot in the Formula One standings over the English Channel on July 6 when they hit the track in the British Grand Prix.

Massa overtook teammate Kimi Raikkonen on June 22 to claim the checkered flag in the French Grand Prix and take over first place in the drivers championship.

Jarno Trulli, Heikki Kovalainen, Kubica, Mark Webber, Nelsinho Piquet, and Fernando Alonso rounded out the Top 8 in France. Lewis Hamilton finished out of the points in 10th place.

Massa now leads Kubica 48-46 in the drivers championship, with Raikkonen five points behind the leader in third place. Hamilton remains at 38 points on the season, with Heidfeld in fifth place with 28 points.

Ferrari's 1-2 finish in France extended their lead to 91-74 over BMW Sauber in the constructors championship. McLaren-Mercedes is well back of top spot with 58 points on the season.

Raikkonen won the British Grand Prix last season, edging Alonso by 2.4 seconds for the victory. Hamilton was third, Kubica was fourth, and Massa was fifth. Heidfeld, Kovalainen, and Giancarlo Fisichella also had Top-8 results in that race.

After racing in Britain the Formula One series will head back to the mainland for the German Grand Prix on July 20. August's F1 schedule then features the Hungarian Grand Prix and the European Grand Prix.
