Australian Grand Prix Preview

Chalk Wire - Fernando Alonso will be looking to start the season with two straight wins when he takes to the track in the Australian Grand Prix on March 28.

Alonso raced to the win in the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 14, beating Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa across the finish line.

Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, and Nico Rosberg rounded out the Top 5 in Bahrain, while Michael Schumacher finished in sixth place in his return to the circuit.

Jenson Button, Mark Webber, Vitantonio Liuzzi, and Rubens Barrichello rounded out the Top 10 at Bahrain and also picked up points for the drivers championship.

Ferrari leads the constructors championship with 43 points after one race. McLaren (Hamilton and Button) and Mercedes (Rosberg and Schumacher) sit behind them in the standings with 21 and 18 points, respectively.

Button won the Australian Grand Prix last year, when it led off the season. Barrichello, Jarno Trulli, Timo Glock, and Alonso made up the rest of the Top 5 drivers at that event.

After racing in Australia the drivers of Formula 1 will head back to Asia for the Malaysian Grand Prix on April 4.
